Happy, Tough, Alaskan Hens Living it up in the Last Frontier
From Puerto Rico to Alaska. . .

Welcome to our farm!

Our family has a rich history of raising chickens that dates back generations to our roots in Puerto Rico right to our Native American Ancestors, The Taino.
For as long as can remember, chickens, fishing and farming has been a part of my family's way of life. As a child, I fascinated by the birds and the sea animals and their unique personalities and our plants, our trees, the oxygen they gave us and how they grew and produce food for us.
I realized early on, that the farm and especially my chickens, were my happy place. My emotional support animals in a way. So it was quite the surprise that I went off to college and studied to be an Environmental Scientist and then a teacher and then after twenty years went back to my roots, receiving upper level degrees in Animal Husbandry, specifically poultry behavior and welfare. In 2020, I decided to become my own boss. I knew that I wanted to continue the tradition of raising chickens and providing fresh, delicious eggs for our community. But during the pandemic, I also realized that Alaska needed to become self-sufficient in order to feed it's population and not rely on the lower 48 to feed us foods that come to us tasting nasty, old and bland. Do you now that if a castatrophic problem would happen to the lower 48 and close our ports from receiving food, Alaska would run out of fresh foods in 2 weeks?
As a scientist, my job is to help our community. During COVID, I served my community in a research status. Now, I am doing this because there is an agricultural need. And to make it succeed, we are going to have to be super innovative because continuing to be ethical in a bitter cold environment is a challenge.
Our farm today is a family affair, with everyone pitching in to keep things running smoothly. We have a few Backyard Chicken Farmers who contribute eggs and chickens to the farm through a COOP agreement. The chickens are happy and healthy and live a better life than (dare I say) than all commercial chicken factories in the US.
We take pride in the fact that our eggs are not only better tasting, but come from a long-standing tradition of caring for our feathered friends.

We believe that there's something special about knowing where your food comes from, and we're proud to be able to provide our community not only with fresh, locally-sourced eggs but with products such as powdered eggs, chicken meat, mushrooms and vegetables.

We thank you for choosing our farm, and we hope that you enjoy our eggs and our other products as much as we do!
